We have provided a list below that will help you determine the specifications on your computer. The instructions on finding this information in your computer is listed below.  Click on the component and follow the corresponding instructions.

Processor

Windows

  • From your computer's desktop, right-click on the My Computer icon.
  • Select Properties.
  • Select the General tab.
  • The Computer category notes your Processor type (for example, "Pentium® II Processor").
  • Mac OS 9.x
    • Under the Apple menu, select Apple System Profiler.
    • Select the System Profile tab.
    • Processor speed is listed under Machine speed (for example, "733 MHz").
    • If this information is not visible, click on the triangle to the left of Hardware overview to expand that section; repeat step 3.
  • Mac OS X
    • Double-click the Macintosh HD (hard drive) icon (usually located in the upper right-hand corner of the computer's desktop).
    • Click on the Applications icon (usually located at the top of the window) to open.
    • Find and double-click on the Utilities folder.
    • Find and double-click Apple System Profiler.
    • Select the System Profile tab.
    • Processor speed is listed under Machine speed (for example, "733 MHz").
    • If this information is not visible, click on the triangle to the left of Hardware overview to expand that section; repeat step 6.

    Operating System (OS)

    Please note: If your operating system is not listed in our minimum system requirements table or in operating system selection menus, it is not supported at this time.

    Windows

    • From your computer's desktop, right-click on My Computer icon.
    • Select Properties.
    • Select the General tab.
    • The System category notes your Operating System (for example, "Microsoft Windows 98").
  • Mac OS 9.x
    • Under the Apple menu, select Apple System Profiler.
    • Select the System Profile tab.
    • The operating system version is listed under System heading (for example, "9.1 US").
    • If this information is not visible, click on the triangle to the left of Software overview to expand that section; repeat step 3.
  • Mac OS X
    • Double-click the Macintosh HD (hard drive) icon (usually located in the upper right-hand corner of the computer's desktop).
    • Click on the Applications icon (usually located at the top of the window) to open.
    • Find and double-click on the Utilities folder.
    • Find and double-click Apple System Profiler.
    • Select the System Profile tab.
    • The operating system version is listed under System (for example, "Mac OS X 10.1.5 (5556)").
    • If this information is not visible, click on the triangle to the left of Software overview to expand that section; repeat step 6.

    CD-ROM Media

    Windows

    • From your computer's desktop, double-click the My Computer icon.
    • If you have a CD-ROM Drive, this screen will display an icon depicting a drive and CD disk. Typically, this icon is labeled D:.
  • Mac OS 9.x
    • Under the Apple menu, select Apple System Profiler.
    • Select the Devices and Volumes tab.
    • If a CD-ROM, CD-R, CD-RW, DVD, DVD-ROM, or DVD-RAM drive is present, it will appear in the list of devices displayed.
  • Mac OS X
    • Double-click the Macintosh HD (hard drive) icon (usually located in the upper right-hand corner of the computer's desktop).
    • Click on the Applications icon (usually located at the top of the window) to open.
    • Find and double-click on the Utilities folder.
    • Find and double-click Apple System Profiler.
    • Select the Devices and Volumes tab.
    • If a CD-ROM, CD-R, CD-RW, DVD, DVD-ROM, or DVD-RAM drive is present, it will appear in the list of devices displayed.

    Disk Space

    Windows

    • From your computer's desktop, double-click on My Computer icon.
    • Right-click the [C:] Drive icon.
    • Select Properties.
    • Select the General tab.
    • Free Space is the amount of available disk space.
  • Mac OS 9.x
    • Click on the Macintosh HD (hard drive) icon (usually located in the upper right-hand corner of the computer's desktop). This is the start-up disk.
    • From the File menu, select Get Info.
    • The Available listing shows the amount of available disk space.
  • Mac OS X
    • Click the Macintosh HD (hard drive) icon (usually located in the upper right-hand corner of the computer's desktop). This is the start-up disk.
    • From the File menu, select Show Info.
    • The Available listing shows the amount of available disk space.

    Memory-RAM (Random Access Memory)

    Windows

    • From your computer's desktop, right-click on My Computer icon.
    • Select Properties.
    • Select the General tab.
    • The Computer category notes your RAM.
  • Mac OS 9.x
    • Under the Apple menu, select Apple System Profiler.
    • Select the System Profile tab.
    • The Built-in memory listing shows the total amount of RAM installed in the computer.
    • If this information is not visible, click on the triangle to the left of Memory overview to expand that section; repeat step 3.
  • Mac OS X
    • Double-click the Macintosh HD (hard drive) icon (usually located in the upper right-hand corner of the computer's desktop).
    • Click on the Applications icon (usually located at the top of the window) to open.
    • Find and double-click on the Utilities folder.
    • Find and double-click Apple System Profiler.
    • Select the System Profile tab.
