The evolution of computers have left many of our senior citizens with a technology knowledge gap. The Administration on Aging (http://aoa.gov/prof/Statistics/profile/8.asp) states that, “About 3.4 million elderly persons (10.1%) were below the poverty level in 2001.” With rising healthcare cost and prescription medications skyrocketing many seniors simply cannot afford to purchase a computer.”
Since computers have become an integral part of our lives and a mainstay in society, it is imperative that senior citizens be fully equipped with the access and knowledge of a personal computer.
Our goal is to provide these seniors with computers and the training needed to bring them into the new millennium.
